THEME PARTIES 101 |
Posted: February 17, 2017 |
Planning for and hosting a party can be so much fun and so much stress at the same time. Parties are a good excuse to catch up with the people you speak to only once a year and do something insanely ridiculous that no one would judge you for if done in daily life. Adding life to your party, and making people go bold and unique for one night of the year can be easily done thanks to theme parties. Adding a theme to any kind of party makes it ten times more fun and memorable. You could add a theme to a birthday, a bridal shower, a baby shower, a bachelor or bachelorette and homecoming or prom.
•The date:When you decide the date, make sure your friends are available and they have enough time to put together their outfits and looks for that evening. A two-week gap should suffice. •Budget it out: Be the responsible, poised host you are but don’t go all out; manage them finances! Themed parties can be really costly because you have to coordinate all aspects of the party with a set pattern. So before you dive in and play host, be responsible and smart in the matters of money, unless, you’re like... filthy rich. •The place:Go for a venue that compliments your theme and does not violate the range of your budget! If you are not up for getting a hall or place or simply cannot afford it, you could always DIY your décor to synchronize it with your theme of the evening. •Revive your inner artist:The creative soul asleep within you needs to be woken up and get started on some crafty business. Get your glue gun and some glitter and work on décor material, invites, and props. However, there is no shame in saving time and money. You could always opt for an e-invite, call or text message. Decoration material can be bought for cheap at your local store. In case none of the items match your theme, you know how to DIY your way out of this situation. •Food and Entertainment:What most of us foodies look forward to is the menu! If you are hosting a theme party, you might want to cater to food that compliments your theme. But food can depend on a number of factors like the preference of your guests and your budget. You can always stick to your classic tacos or basic nachos and cheese and everyone will love it. Having karaoke at your party is always a crowd pleaser. The entertainment of your party can depend upon the venue. You can host a bonfire if the party is an outdoorsy event. You could go for a scavenger hunt if you are hosting a Caribbean themed party. As long as you have the perfect soundtrack, good company to share the evening with, and some delicious snacks, the party will be a hit.
